With QB Kurt Warner's retirement, the Cardinals are looking for a better run-pass balance in 2010. "We have shown progress in the run game," HC Ken Whisenhunt said. "And it gives us optimism going forward that we can be more balanced." Last season, Arizona attempted 594 passes -- 3rd most in the NFL. They finished dead-last in the league with just 365 carries. Look for the Cardinals to lean more heavily on RBs Beanie Wells and Tim Hightower this season as they ease QB Matt Leinart into the starting job.

Jerheme Urban, ARI

The Chiefs have signed free-agent WR Jerheme Urban. The former Cardinal has plenty of experience in HC Todd Haley's offense. And with the dire state of the Chiefs' WR corps, Urban has an excellent shot to open the season as the team's #3 WR. But his fantasy value would still be minimal. Kansas City will also likely add a WR through the draft.

The Cardinals have signed QB Derek Anderson to a 2-year, $7.25 million contract. Another $11 million is available in incentives. It's an interesting move. And while we'd still call QB Matt Leinart the favorite to win the starting job, Anderson will definitely be given a chance to steal it. D.A. has been horrible the past 2 seasons. But don't forget that this is a guy who threw for 3,787 yards and 29 TDs in 2007. And that was on a Browns team whose weapons were miles behind what Anderson will be working with in Arizona. We'll keep a close eye on this battle between Anderson and Leinart throughout the summer.

I agree. Excellent sleeper pick.

With the loss of Kurt Warner and a potentially easy run schedule, Wells should be considered a top-20 back and a great sleeper. Hightower will make a dent, but only as much as Greene did last year to T.Jones.

Early Doucet, ARI

Boldin signs with the Ravens. This opens things up for Doucet. Though this does not make him a starter, obviously the Cardinals feel very confident in their current WR corps and Doucet did play well down the stretch in '09. I see him worth a late round pick worth the chance in case Leinart can step in strong.

Mangini won't be saying who the guy is going to be in Cleveland in Week 4 until he has to after pulling Quinn Sunday in favor of Anderson. It might not be long before they start considering Brett Ratliff for the spot. At least he didn't throw any interceptions on Sunday.
