Ben Roethlisberger, PIT

It is official. Roethlisberger will serve a 6 game suspension, which will have him absent for 7 weeks (includes bye) of the Fantasy Football season. Despite not being charged, Ben is being punished for violating the league's conduct policy.

Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter, of ESPN, report Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will be suspended for four to six games. Certainly the Byron Leftwich trade yesterday makes sense now. How big is this to fantasy players? Think about most fantasy leagues use a 14 game "regular season". Add to that the fact that the Steelers have Week8 as their Bye, and Roethlisberger is effectively gone for 7 of the 14 regular season games. We can probably say that all Steeler receivers take a hit with this as well. Stay tuned as there should be official word from the league today. Also note above that there will likely be conditions available where Roethlisberger could reduce the suspension.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced on Monday that he plans to meet with QB Ben Roethlisberger in the near future. Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault twice in the past year. "At the appropriate time, I'll be meeting with Ben," Goodell said. "The most important thing is we take the issue seriously. We are concerned that Ben continues to put himself in this position." Regardless of how Big Ben's current case shakes out, he's likely to face a suspension from the NFL office.

You probably do not need much encouragement this week to start Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. However, if you drafted him, it was probably in the sixth round or later. He has given great return on investment. Through six games, Big Ben has amassed 1,887 yards, 10 touchdowns and a 104.7 passer rating.

Looks like there aren't any plans to investigate Roethlisberger criminally, so he shouldn't miss any playing time.

Big Ben injured his knee in practice last week and had to limp off the field. It does not appear to be too serious, but he sure does continue to take a beating. How much longer can his body take it?

Sounds like his career is going to be cut short. Just too much beating.

Not much going on with Big Ben right now. Gotta wonder if he's going to be fully recovered from all those sacks and concussions from last year.
