Fantasy Football![]() 2 ![]() | In my 2-QB dynasty league Whitehurst is on my radar as a late round stash for the future so long as Seattle doesn't draft a QB in the first 2-3 rounds.

![]() 3 ![]() | That's a good idea. Listening to Peter Carroll talk about the guy gives me some confidence in him. At the very least they seem invested in him and will give him a chance to succeed.

![]() 3 ![]() | Judging by what they gave up to acquire him, we knew the Seahawks were pretty high on QB Charlie Whitehurst. This past Wednesday, new HC Pete Carroll went into a little more detail about the team's thoughts on their new QB. "There's plenty of professional film (of him) to see," Carroll said. "He's thrown a lot of balls in preseason games, so we were able to break it down. He's got a natural release, a strong arm, and he's capable of making all the throws. We felt this was a guy who we could look towards in the future and could be a guy who develops into a top quarterback." Keep in mind that Whitehurst has never thrown an NFL pass. Earlier this week, Carroll essentially named QB Matt Hasselbeck his starter, so the best Whitehurst can hope for is to take over at some point during the year.

![]() 2 ![]() | Also it is extremely important to note that the Seahawks really gave up a lot for Whitehurst. But it was not only Seattle that was in the mix but also the Cardinals. And both were willing to give up a minimum of a 3rd round pick for this third stringer. I agree with brettbarclay. Look for Whitehurst to be a very big midseason sleeper, and a solid starter next year. These teams are not betting big on a "hunch." They obviously saw something and the rest of us should take note.

![]() 2 ![]() | The Seahawks have acquired QB Charlie Whitehurst in a trade with the Chargers. In return, San Diego will swap 2nd-round picks with Seattle in this April's draft -- moving the Chargers up 20 spots -- and receive Seattle's 2011 3rd-round pick. Immediately after the trade, the Seahawks signed Whitehurst to a new 2-year, $8 million contract. It's a pretty hefty price to pay for a guy who has never attempted a pass in the NFL. It suggests that Whitehurst has a real chance to take the team's starting job from QB Matt Hasselbeck. We'd bet on Hasselbeck starting the season but giving way to Whitehurst if the team is struggling. It wouldn't be a bad idea for dynasty leaguers to stash Whitehurst.
