Kyle Orton, DEN

Between the acquisition of Quinn, Brandstater's development and the departure of Marshall, Kyle Orton is at an all-time low. Orton could surprise but at best he's a late-round flier and his ceiling isn't as high as Mark Sanchez, Chad Henne, or debateably even Matthew Stafford.

According to Sports Illustrated's Peter King, Broncos HC Josh McDaniels called QB Kyle Orton immediately after the team traded for QB Brady Quinn to inform Orton that he was still the team's starter. It's a nice gesture and all, but Orton will need to out-play Quinn in training camp and the preseason to hang on to the starting gig. Denver doesn't have a whole lot invested in Orton and they've been after Quinn for the past 2 years. It'll be a training camp battle to watch, although the winner will be nothing more than a middle-of-the-road QB2 for fantasy purposes.

Orton's not impressing after one preseason game under center for the Broncos. How much longer before he starts to sink Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall's ships?

Kyle Orton: The Next Great Fantasy QB? Perhaps. His value definitely gets a boots. Great, maybe not. In that offense, I'll still take him as a backup QB. Gotta see where Brandon Marshall ends up though.

Orton has won the starting QB job in Denver. It isn't like Simms was every going to be adequate competition. Although it is unlikely that Orton is a fantasy force, he might be worth a late-round pick considering he is playing in a spread offense.

Unless Marshall leaves, Orton will be a classic low risk, high reward candidate for sure. However, if he struggles at all, I think they wouldn't hesitate to put Simms in there
