The Lions have acquired OG Rob Sims from the Seahawks in exchange for a 5th-round pick in this month's NFL Draft. Sims started 31 games for Seattle over the past 3 seasons and still has plenty of upside at just 26 years old. He'll move right into Detroit's starting lineup.

Daunte Culpepper figured to give the Lions the best chance to win early and get off the 0-16 schneid. Instead, the Lions coaching staff saw fit to name the true rookie,Matt Stafford, as the starter today. As a Calvin Johnson owner, this was my biggest fear. But, after I heard the news today, I had a change of heart.

Well, I think the Lions made a mistake picking Stafford, but no reason to compound it by throwing him into the fire. Let him sit a year and buy your coaching staff an extra season before being fired. Good move.

Yeah, that makes sense. It's gotta be frustrating for the Lions though. They desperately need help right now, not week 10.
