Crabtree is finally signed, but you can still wait to get him on your fantasy roster

DO NOT DRAFT THIS GUY. No player who has held out in training camp has EVER improved or matched previous year's production. There is not much comparable for a rookie WR, but those that remember Mike Williams (WR USC) will remember how that destroyed the career of the best WR prospect (possibly ever). If Crabtree decides to sit, we can write him off not just for this season, but for his entire career.

Michael Crabtree is so serious about his holdout that he's threatening to hold out the entire season and wait for next year's draft. Anything less than $23 million is "unacceptable" to him.

Be careful here! This is not coming from Crabtree or his agent. This was said by his cousin. Until there are credible remarks from either the team, the agent, or the player, you should only use that information and article to bother your competition -- but don't you take it seriously.

Ah, good point. It seems believable, but you're right it might just be made up. It would be nice to see him in camp soon though.

Michael Crabtree may not be an immediate starter for the Niners in week 1. The team expects him to return from his foot injury by training camp, but he will need to beat out Josh Morgan in the early going.

Interesting. I'm guessing that it's just a formality that they're not declaring him a starter yet. Josh Morgan shouldn't be too hard for him to beat.

I don't know. Morgan is a decent receiver, and that injury will have Crabtree sidelined for a while longer. He might be slow going at the beginning. Maybe this year isn't the year for Crabtree's fantasy value.

Mike Singletary is the coach right? I'd have to expect that he's going to be old school and won't let some rookie punk just step right into the starting lineup. He'll make him earn it, trust me.

Already anointed the starter by Niners brass.

That's good to hear. At least shows that he's on track to recover fully in time for the season.

Crabtree has started running sprints on his injured foot under close watch by the 49ers' training staff. Looking good for the preseason.

Michael Crabtree went first in a dynasty mock draft.

This is not a mock draft, it is a Dynasty Rookie Draft in a league hosted at Football Jabber. The post is to give fantasy ballers an idea how players are falling. As far as Crabtree going #1...goes to show how unpredictable drafts can be. The owner was really hurting at WR.

Ah, my bad sorry. I should have paid closer attention. Thanks for the clarification.

I'd personally prefer Moreno #1. Crabtree just has a little too much hype, plus SF isn't exactly a fantasy powerhouse.

If the league is PPR, Crabtree isn't a bad top pick. SF will probably trail in games most of the season, and Crabtree will see a lot of chances coming his way.

The Hazean breaks down the top rookie WRs including Crabtree. I agree that he's likely a future Pro Bowler.
