Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin wants pay more attention to the run game this season. "I'd love to see us run 32-34 times a game where we need to split up the carries a little better," said Philbin. "We need to get it up in the 30s on a consistent basis." *Grant owners will be very happy to hear this.

Fred Jackson, BUF

Bills RBs coach Eric Studesville promises an "ever-increasing role" for Fred Jackson. *Although I do not like the fact that Dominic Rhodes is around, Jackson has clearly played well when called upon. I worry about a full-blown RBBC at some point in Buffalo.

Vikings WR Sidney Rice has been working out with Cris Carter, Larry Fitzgerald, DeAngelo Hall, and Greg Jennings (and others) at the University of Minnesota. *Nice group to be working out with. Rice is a very interesting sleeper this season, especially if Favre is around.

Officially say goodbye to Tyler Thigpen's fantasy career. I can't believe that they gave this kid that fat contract after less than a full season of NFL starts. Talk about being in the right place (NE) at the right time.

Well known writer John Czarnecki states that "everyone knows" that Derrick Ward will be the Bucs' featured offensive player this season. *I have heard a lot of mixed signals coming out of TB about this situation, but whomever (Ward or Graham) gets 2/3 of the touches will be quite fantasy worthy. My money is on the better player with the bigger contract... Ward.

This writer (Reiss) believes that Fred Taylor will see the 2nd most touches in the NE backfield. Only Kevin Faulk will see more. *The NE backfield will be interesting to watch. It could develop into a frightening RBBC though.

DEEP SLEEPER ALERT! Browns TE Martin Rucker says "the door is open" and this is a "great opportunity" for him to make a significant impact (after the departure of Kellen Winslow). *We know that Cleveland TE's are fantasy worthy and he only has to beat out Robert Royal to do so.

It looks like Denver management isn't expected to cave to Marshall trade demands unless they are blown away by an offer. Don't expect that offer to come with Marshall's off-the-field issues. This might get messy.

I agree with the idea of waiting on TEs in the draft, especially this year, but I would keep a close eye on Carlson during training camp to see what his role will be.
