Willie Parker, PIT

The Redskins have signed RB Willie Parker to a 1-year, $3.1 million contract. He'll compete for carries with RBs Clinton Portis and Larry Johnson. If there's ever been a bigger group of washed-up RBs, we can't remember it. HC Mike Shanahan must be banking on his famed zone-blocking schemes reviving at least 1 of these guys' careers. For fantasy purposes, we'd stay far, far away from the situation.

Willie Parker will continue to start, but it's difficult to see how he will make much of an impact given the Steelers RB rotation. The Steelers plan to insert Rashard Mendenhall every 3rd series, and Mewelde Moore will still have a role on passing downs.

Parker is in training camp and is not holding out. Probably a smart move on his part. He's in the last year of his contract and he has Mendenhall breathing down his neck.

Will FWP get enough carries this year to still be considered a #1 RB? I'm thinking that Mendenhall is going to be a much bigger factor.
